Cheaters beware...Microsoft plans to do more than just reset the gamerscores of cheaters in the Xbox Live community. “The bar is a little bit higher than that,” Microsoft's Stephen Toulouse said on a recent edition of the Major Nelson radio podcast. “The other thing it does is, it puts a tag that you’ve been cheating on your gamercard. That’s a pretty big Scarlet Letter.”
Hell yeah it is!
For those not in the loop, this was brought on by a recent string of cheaters exploiting Gears of War 2, and we all know that you DON'T MESS WITH THE GEARS (at least, from Microsoft's perspective...). It is nice to see Microsoft making a statement and not allowing cheaters to prosper and tarnish the online console gaming community though...because, ya know...CHEATERS SUCK!

Yet, we dont know if this is a new Metal Gear title or a brand new game from Konami
Unless youve been under a rock (or a bricked 360), you know that a mysterious website was recently launched to tease yet another Kojima Productions title...Well, the website has been updated today to deliver a countdown timer and some thunder and lighting which reveals the number five when flashing...Obviously, the five could refer to the fifth installment of the mega-popular Metal Gear Solid franchise, but that seems a little too obvious at this point to us...right? Anyway, the countdown timer expires in the next few days so well of course keep you posted the moment we know what this is all about.

Microsoft appears to be hemorrhaging information in the lead-up to the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo, which is on track to tear into Los Angeles from June 1-4. Last week, an off-the-reservation game journalist posting under the Twitter account Game Fork spilled alleged details on what Microsoft will bring to its annual press conference, which is to take place this year on June 1.

ShackNews is reporting that David Kim, a senior
animator at Treyarch (the studio that developed Call of Duty: World at
War), let it slip on his LinkedIn profile that Call of Duty 7 is indeed
in development and will be coming to us courtesy of Treyarch and not
Infinity Ward.
Kim's post on LinkedIn read, "I am currently on
my second title as a senior animator in the games industry with
Activision / Treyarch on Call Of Duty 7."
This should be of no
surprise to fans of the series as Activision is committed to keeping to
the schedule of releasing annual installments of its most popular
franchises. No platforms were revealed but PS3, Xbox 360, and PC are
safe bets given the history of the franchise.
Stay tuned for more if and when it happens.
