EA survey indicates "epic conclusion" to real-time strategy series will feature role-playing-style character classes, MMORPG-like persistent progression, co-op campaign, and all-new story with "grittier" cinematics.

For a while, it was unclear if Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (2007) would get a proper sequel. The Xbox 360 and PC real-time strategy game was a critical smash, earning a 9.0 from GameSpot (on the PC) and selling a respectable 701,000 units in the US, according to the NPD Group. However, the expansions Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath and spin-off Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (both 2008) fared less well with reviewers and sold less than half as much at retail.

Legal documents from countersuit contend publisher had commissioned "well-known" third-party developer to make a new title called "Duke Begins"; project allegedly stopped this past April.

Like most legal battles, the courtroom struggle between Duke Nukem Forever developer 3D Realms and publisher Take-Two Interactive is progressing at a gradual pace. One month after Take-Two sued 3D Realms, the latter's parent company, Apogee Software Ltd., filed a countersuit on Friday in the US District Court of Southern New York, which was spotted by GamePolitics. (The company also uses the Apogee name for its handheld and classic game division, relaunched in 2008.) Besides denying most of the initial suit's claims, t ... Read more »

What's that? An exaggeratedly-titled top ten list? On the Internet? Surely you jest!

Call me a weakling, but it's been more or less forever since I last satiated my base, pathetic, utterly human desire to organize my favorite pastime into an authoritative-sounding and undoubtedly inaccurate countdown list.

This time around, I'm looking at videogame quotes: well-written or not, intentionally enlightening or not, what are the ten most meaningful videogame quotes in gaming memory? Which quotes actually teach or represent something important about ... Read more »

Enhanced edition of Rockstar Leeds' top-rated gangster actioner coming to Sony's portable on UMD, via download for the PSP Go.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars received effusive critical praise when it debuted on the Nintendo DS in March. However, high marks from critics didn't translate to equally high sales, with the M-for-Mature-rated top-down shooter/minigame compilation selling just 90,000 units in the US during its opening month, according to the NPD Group. That figure is an extraordinarily low one, considering the DS's massive installed base and the strength of the franchise.
