Eidos' comic-book action-adventure game committed to X360, PS3; Square Enix's Final Fantasy 3D fighter hits PSP, with Professor Layton rolling onto DS and Metroid Prime Trilogy for Wii.



Although Madden NFL 10 kicked off two weeks ago, this month has yet to see a deluge of noteworthy titles. That will change this week with the debut of numerous prominent titles, including Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, and Metroid Prime Trilogy.

BlizzCon 2009: With the Wings of Liberty beta test expected this year, Blizzard discusses the background story behind its popular sci-fi RTS; Battlestar Galactica star to lend voice to game.



ANAHEIM, California--BlizzCon 2009 has thus far been an eventful one for fans of Blizzard Entertainment. The biggest announcement thus far pertains to Blizzard's massively popular massively multiplayer online role-playing World of Warcraft, with the game maker announcing the game's third full expansion Cataclysm. As part of the opening ceremony, Blizzard also unveiled the monk class as the fourth that will be playable in its action role-playing game Diablo III.

Microsoft scores a rare win on Sony's home turf; Dragon Quest IX back on top of charts in a light week of new releases.


Usually, Microsoft and its Xbox 360 don't bear much mention in write-ups of the Japanese sales charts. The system typically jostles for the penultimate spot in the hardware charts with the aging PlayStation 2 and is represented in the top 10 software sales charts rarely.
