Valve's survival horror zombie shooter gains new add-on pack this September; PC edition free, 360 download $7.



Turning around sequels isn't exactly what Valve is known for, as evidenced by the gaps between the "episodic" installments in its company-defining Half-Life franchise. However, the Washington-based independent developer muddied that reputation at the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo, saying that a sequel to its survival horror zombie shooter Left 4 Dead would be available November 17, nearly a year to the day after the first installment shipped to a strong critical response.

Activision taps n-Space for multiplayer-enabled handheld edition of present-day combat franchise, due alongside console, PC versions on November 10.



As the release date for Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 draws nearer, analysts have already predicted that the game will sell over 11.1 million copies in just the first two months of release. The previous instalment in the Modern Warfare series has sold over 13 million copies since its November 5, 2008, launch, pushing the publisher's revenues to more than $981 million during its January-March quarter.

Nintendo's camera-equipped handheld gains photo-uploading capabilities for online social network starting Monday night; US sales top 1.7M.



At the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo, Microsoft announced that Xbox Live subscribers would be able to connect to popular social networking site Facebook directly through the Xbox 360. Though a date has yet to be attached to that service, another console manufacturer, Nintendo, will be beating Microsoft to the punch, announcing today that gamers can imminently upload photos to Facebook using their camera-equipped DSi.
