Top Cow reveals during Comic-Con panel that demonic comic will see a second game; Starbreeze reportedly not involved.
Top Cow's infernal comic The Darkness
found a welcome home in the gaming sector in 2007, courtesy of 2K Games
and Starbreeze Studios. A first-person shooter, The Darkness managed to
draw critical praise on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the face of competition from such classics as Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, and The Orange Box.

Ubisoft pushes stealth action sequel and Wii
first-person shooter/slasher to Q1 '10; I am Alive and next Tom Clancy
title moved past March.
The ever-elusive Sam Fisher is at it again. Just when gamers thought
the long-awaited Splinter Cell: Conviction had finally been nailed down for a November 17 launch,

Developer says Halo: Reach will likely be its sci-fi
series swan song; senior designer Lars Bakken thinks new publishing
agreement will be closed "sometime soon."
When Halo: Reach's mysterious trailer debuted at last month's Electronic Entertainment Expo,
it generated a lot of interest. The rabid fan base of the sci-fi series
was intrigued by its apocalyptic imagery, which recalled Eric Nylund's
novel Halo: The Fall of Reach.
A prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, the book depicted the cataclysmic
battle on the fortress world of Reach, where series hero Master Chief
and other heavily armored Spartan troopers fight off a Covenant
invasion.

CFO Tom Szkutak says its $16 million quarterly income
drop is partially due to stagnant media sales on products like "video
games and consoles."
In early April, Amazon bolstered its video game catalog with a devoted Xbox Live section, which currently offers 114 products.
However, these offerings weren't enough to buoy the online
megaretailer's income, which dropped 10 percent in its second fiscal
quarter compared to the same period last year. Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, Amazon CFO Tom Szkutak blamed the meager performance, in part, on what he called a "slowdown in video games and consoles."

Superannuation has been on a tear of late, unearthing an abundance
of United States Patent and Trademark Office filings and online resumes
that point to a variety of publishers' potential plans for the future.
And if the site's latest nugget of information is to be believed,
Disney Interactive Studios doesn't plan on returning to its new
off-road racing franchise Pure anytime soon.
As
spotted by Superannuation, the online resume of a former Black Rock
Studios artist states that Disney scuttled plans to publish Pure 2 on
the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The artist, who accordingly worked on
the project in 2008, posted a number of shots along with his resume to
advertise his work, including concept shots of two different ATVs seen
from various angles for Pure 2. Pure met
